     Our next Ewers book proper will be 'The Sorcerers Apprentice'. This will be a straight reprint of the John Day version. Ewers was very unhappy with the initial translation by  Ludwig Lewisohn  (who is credited with it) and went through it himself "line by line" to correct it before publication. "The result was that hardly a line of Mr. L.L.'s translation was left! so he surely didn't deserve the honour of having his name mentioned"- (Letter from H.H.E. to John Day publishers 12th May 1927). Needless to say, the Side Real edition will also contain extra material, including a fascinating (100 page +) new find. More details to follow.

  

      Joe Bandel is working towards a new definitive edition of Hanns Ewers 'Vampir'. There is thought to be a substantial amount of missing text from the only previous translation due to censorship by person(s) unknown.

      There are also some other (non Ewers) projects in progress. We hope to announce one of these in Spring 2013.
